Agile is not the coffee machine, or a ping pong table
I frequently ask leaders about the state of their Agile transformation. Most answers revolve around modernizing the workplace. I believe such investment showcases the executive commitment to improving the workplace. However, such investment paired with an agile culture transformation is imperative for an organization to reap the benefits they are expecting. Modernizing the workplace is much simpler relative to changing an organization’s culture. Over the years, organizations evolved to include many decision-making levels, decisions by committees, fear of failure and lack of accountability. Relinquishing such culture, and moving towards a culture of team empowerment, and fail fast mindset is not an easy task. Culture change requires immense leadership commitment, stakeholder support and trust in the outcomes.
